Planning a funeral is on no one’s bucket list, and it can be very difficult, but designing a granite memorial can be a rewarding experience. Our granite monument services are professionally and compassionately delivered. We’ll do all we can to ease your burden and help you design the perfect headstone, gravestone, or marker for your nearest and dearest. We’ll custom make your memorial to reflect the life of your family member so they can be remembered vibrantly forever. We offer a variety of services so that we’re capable of meeting your every need during this tough time.
Pre-Planning
Rather than leave the decision making to your family after you pass away, you can choose to design your monument well before your passing. You will have the opportunity to choose the size, colour, shape, and personal touches to ensure you will be remembered as you want to be remembered. Following this process leaves your family one less heartbreaking task after your passing, which is just one more way of saying I love you from beyond the grave.
Monuments
Our main service is the custom design of granite monuments, headstones, and other grave markers. We offer our expertise in design and take pride in delivering creative, meaningful, and quality memorials to our customers. We have a broad selection of monument types for you to choose from as well as a variety of extras for personalization purposes. For your present or future granite memorial requirements, we’re here for you. Our granite monuments are available many colours, such as black, red, mahogany, mountain rose, grey, blue pearl, brits blue and more.
Laser Etching
The laser etching process uses powerful laser technology to engrave phrases, symbols, and pictures on your headstone. Our range of designs and capabilities are vast because of the precision; you can give us a picture to copy, we can etch a nature scene, you can choose to add personal details from your life such as hobbies, passions, and interests, and so much more. If you want a personal and artful memorial, ask us about our custom laser etching service.
Different Types of Granite Monuments
While we most often think of upright headstones when we envision a cemetery, there are a lot more choices than the standard upright granite monument. Let’s take a look at all of the available monument styles we have to offer:
Garden Memorials
Garden memorials are the smallest size of memorial available and aren’t designed for usual cemetery placement. Instead, they’re ideal for home placement to commemorate a loved one closer to your heart. They can rest on a mantel, be placed outside in a garden as the name suggests, or anywhere else you please.
Cenotaphs
Cenotaphs are another unique type of memorial. They aren’t often found in cemeteries since the standard memorial options are much more popular, but cenotaphs serve an important purpose. They’re most often used to commemorate fallen soldiers in large war memorials, particularly for larger numbers of fallen. This monument closely resembles a tower since it is tall but narrow with a pointed top and wider square base.
Pet Memorials
Granite memorials are not only for people. So many of us feel that our pets are equally important members of our family, and for some, they are the only family we have. Our pet memorials are often smaller in size than memorials designated for people, but they are equally beautiful. Most pet owners choose to laser etch their pets face onto the headstone, though there are several other creative ways to memorialize your pet as well.
Children Memorials
Memorials designed for children are another niche area we specialize in. Our child monuments are very customizable and we have pre-made templates to choose from as well that include heartfelt designs with babies, angels, toys, teddy bears, hearts, meaningful phrases, decorative engraving, and more. Memorializing a child is the hardest challenge any parent will face, but we’ll ensure that the monument is beautiful and personal.
Flat Gravestones and Bronze Markers
If you’re not a fan of the standard upright monuments, or looking for a more cost-effective solution, flat markers may be what you’re looking for. Flat markers are flush with the ground for a more subtle aesthetic. They can also be ordered in bronze with the same customization. These markers are available in a variety of sizes and colours.
Pillow Monuments
Pillow monuments are another choice for those that prefer a level gravestone. These monuments are typically set on a base and are sloped at a slight angle so that the back is taller than the front. This slanted placement allows for easier reading of the engravings and inscriptions from above.
Upright Headstones
Vertical headstones and monuments are the most popular choice and usually dominate a cemetery. These headstones can be used to memorialize an individual or a couple when using a double monument. They can be shaped as creatively as you’d like, and there are numerous granite colours to choose from. For laser etchings, black upright headstones are the most common choice since the black/grey combination achieves a beautiful aesthetic.
Cremation Memorials
If you want to memorialize a cremated relative in a more standard fashion within a cemetery, there are several options. The most common memorial is a columbarium, either personal or community-sized. The personal columbarium will fit one or two people and are often engraved. The larger family estate/community size will memorialize up to 16 people usually, though there are custom sizes available as well. There are also cremation benches available that are designed with secret compartments to hold the ashes at the end of the bench.
