MBNA Canadian Trustee

November 15, 2024 by edmgranite

This Friday, we are showcasing our involvement in the Monument Builders of North America (MBNA). MBNA is a nonprofit membership association that works to promote collaboration within the industry and awareness to the public.
Our President, Paul Crosty has been the Canadian Trustee for the MBNA for 2 years and counting! In his role, Paul is a voice for members across Canada. This leadership role offers the opportunity to connect with other monument makers, participate in benchmarking, and to stay informed with the latest information within the industry to ultimately better serve families in our community.

More information about the MBNA can be found on their website.

Columbarium Units

November 1, 2024 by edmgranite

We recently installed this beautiful columbarium unit in the Town of Gibbons cemetery. These units have 48 niches that can hold the cremated remains of two people. The structure is composed entirely of granite, which produces a sleek look and ensures longevity.

Each door is removable so families can engrave the names of their loved ones to create a beautiful mosaic of memories. Contact us today for more information about columbarium units and engraving niche doors!

Swan River First Nation

October 19, 2024 by edmgranite

We are pleased to share a monument we recently created for the Swan River First Nation.

The 4 ft tall eagle is sculpted by hand from India Red granite, making it a one-of-a-kind piece. The eagle is a sacred symbol of respect, honour, strength, courage, and wisdom, which gives significant meaning behind this monument.

The plynth includes inscription that reads:
In memory of all Swan River First Nation Indian Residential School survivors, “warriors” and those who never made it home.

Thank you to the Swan River First Nation for trusting us to help tell their important story. We are honoured to do so.

EMS Foundation Cenotaph

July 3, 2024 by edmgranite

We recently had the honour to collaborate with the EMS Foundation to memorialize EMS practitioners who gave their lives in the line of service. The center posts holds a “Star of Life” emblem, which towers above the snowcapped Alberta Rockies. The center design includes imagery to represent the Alberta prairies and laser photos to represent the essential work that EMS workers do for their communities. The individual names are cast in bronze provided by Behrends Group and adhered to the wings. This cenotaph stands proud in the serene Alberta Legislative Grounds. It’s truly an honour to help memorialize these fallen heroes and to have been invited to the unveiling ceremony.
