Products and Services
Upright Monuments
Upright memorials are available for single and multiple cemetery plots in different shapes, sizes and colours. Double monuments can use one piece of granite or several pieces arranged in a wing-style design. The design team can develop custom shapes from customers’ ideas. Cemetery regulations determine permitted dimensions.
Pillow Monuments
Pillow monuments have a sloped face, with the back higher than the front. Edmonton Granite Memorials offers an alternative to an upright memorial and come in different granite colours and polished finishes.
Flat and Bronze Markers
Flat markers sit level with the ground after installation. Edmonton Granite Memorials offers granite and bronze options. Granite flat markers are available in various colours, with standard thicknesses of three or four inches.
Laser Etching
Laser etching creates images on black granite. Customers can select existing scenes or request custom images made from good-quality photographs. Options include portraits, nature scenes and imagery reflecting a person’s interests.
Cremation Memorials
Memorial options for cremation plots include upright, pillow, flat and columbarium-style monuments.
Children’s Memorials
Children’s memorials are available in a range of sizes, shapes, colours and designs. Consultants assist with selection and cemetery regulations. Personalization can include custom artwork, lettering and photographs.
Pet Memorials
Pet memorial options include granite plaques, granite urns and small garden monuments.
Cenotaph Projects
Edmonton Granite Memorials supplies cenotaphs for organizations commemorating groups whose remains are elsewhere.
Accessories and Added Inscriptions
Accessories include metal or granite vases, bronze candle lanterns, marble statues and porcelain photographs. Added lettering can be completed at the cemetery without removing the monument, matching the existing lettering style even when another manufacturer supplied the original memorial.
Refurbishing and Re-Highlighting
Edmonton Granite Memorials refurbishes older monuments and cleans and renews faded black or white highlights in engraved areas. Work can take place at the cemetery, although some refurbishment requires the monument to be taken to the workshop.
Memorial Pre-Planning
Customers can purchase a memorial in advance and choose its style, size, colour and personalized design with help from a pre-planning consultant.
Service Areas
Edmonton Granite Memorials serves Edmonton and Alberta communities and ships memorials throughout Alberta. Rural representatives assist customers in Bonnyville, Camrose, St. Paul, Vegreville and Yellowknife. These representatives are separate from the two Edmonton showrooms.
Selecting and Creating a Memorial
Customers can discuss their needs with a memorial consultant and explore suitable monument types, dimensions, materials and design options. Cemetery regulations help determine the appropriate memorial. Sandblasting and laser etching are completed in-house, and company employees install the monuments.
For children’s memorials, the design process includes a colour rendering for the customer’s approval before engraving begins.
Pricing and Quotes
Memorial costs depend on size, type, granite colour, finish and accessories. Foundations and installation distance can also affect the total. Consultants help customers consider options within their budget.
Customers can request a free quote online, call either showroom or visit in person. The quote form asks about the cemetery, monument type, plot and whether the memorial is for cremation or burial.
Guarantee and Customer Experiences
Edmonton Granite Memorials guarantees its granite against cracking or disintegration caused by exposure to the elements. When the purchaser, their heirs or personal representative requests help with a marker defect attributable to materials or workmanship, Edmonton Granite Memorials guarantees repair or replacement without charge. See the company guarantee for its wording.
Customer testimonials include Pat Jordan’s account of responsive communication and meeting timelines, and Beverly Lampman’s account of a rendering that reflected her order. These describe individual customer experiences.
